The name of the organization I choose was the United Nations Educational, Scientific and cultural Organization (UNESCO). The link to the website is http://www.unesco.org/new/en/education/themes/strengthening-education-systems/early-childhood/The United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO) was founded on 16 November 1945. While the headquarters is located in France, the organization has a total of 50 offices worldwide.
The mission of the UNESCO Education Sector is to; provide international leadership to create learning societies with educational opportunities for all populations and to provide expertise and foster partnerships to strengthen national educational leadership.
One of the current issues is the 'Initiatives for Education for All
', UNESCO’s Education Sector has developed or co-developed initiatives in response to the need for sustained and concerted action to address persistent education challenges.
One of the programs EDUAIDS is a global initiative on education and HIV?AIDS carried out with 10 UN agencies to help governments provide a comprehensive response in the area of HIV and AIDS education.
Due to my interest in this area, I subscribed to the newsletter 'HIV & Health Education enewsletter'. UNESCO's work on HIV and AIDS focuses on three key priorities; building country capacity for effective and sustainable educational responses to HIV; strengthening comprehensive HIV and sex education ; and advancing gender equality and protecting human rights.
